but for what really matters, because our human faces are dumb
the Imprezas got newer, the Civics got older
there’s a little fudging on the dates here, but it’s close enough.

Which was replaced the following year with...

10 years ago I didn’t even own a digital camera, and didn’t have a facebook account. So not may pictures remain. This is about 9 years a 4 months ago.
a few months later I got my first manual car.

2009 was a drab year. Most of the year was spent in Qatar, so I drove a beat-to-hell Daewoo kei truck a bunch. At home I had a non-running ‘73 VW Squareback and the project languished until I offloaded it at a loss, and an ‘85 Eagle wagon... It ran and I fix it up pretty nicely and sold it at a loss. Never registered it, so I can’t call it my driver. My Cherokee was still rotting in my dad’s yard, where it had been sitting idle sine 2006. This was the driver:
Well, not this exact one, but identical. Plastic hubcaps, cloth bench seat, column
shift, 3.4 V6. Gutless, soulless, but comfy and got gas mileage it had no business getting (35ish highway, and never any worse than 24 city no matter how hard I beat it). It was a good, honest car that I bought with 12k miles and a branded title for dirt cheap and drove it all over the US.
Now:
I still haven’t really bonded with it. It’s a fine car, I’m just not in love. I’ve always hated FWD/4-cyl cars, so the fact that I don’t hate it is big.
And of course the Cherokee, Suburban and Studebaker... Though they don’t get driven much.

Ten years ago I was 14 and didn’t have a license. So I guess my bike would be it?

Fst car was a 1987 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme with an asthmatic 307 V8. This was in 2005. In 2019, I'm rocking a sweetass 2015 Durango AWD Blacktop with a 300 hp V6. Time has treated me well

Nope. 24. Hence my talk a few weeks ago about knowing what it's like to be young and annoying on Oppo, since I started here when I was 17 with no car and emotional baggage.
